Hi, I’m Nico :)

I’m a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Politecnico Di Milano where I conduct research in Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence. My work is based at the Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Lab (AIRLab) under the guidance of Prof. Matteo Matteucci.

My current projects explore the fusion of visual and textual information. I’m investigating how the semantic properties of text can enhance vision tasks and improve explainability in deep learning models.

Academic and Research Journey

My research journey began in 2021 with a focus on Few Shot Learning and Few Shot Segmentation, which led to several international conference publications. In 2024, I expanded my horizons as a visiting scholar at the University of Oslo, collaborating with Prof. Adín Ramírez Rivera at the Digital Signal Processing and Image Analysis Research Group (DSB) to deepen my understanding of representation learning. Alongside these endeavors, I have contributed to applied research projects, developing vision methodologies for agricultural robotics. Previously I worked on autonomous driving through my collaboration with the Hungarian Institute for Computer Science and Control (SZTAKI).

My academic foundation was built through diverse international experiences. I earned my MSc in Computer Science and Engineering in 2021 through a dual degree program under the EIT Digital initiative, studying at both KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm and Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest, where I specialized in Autonomous Systems with a strong emphasis on Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. Prior to that, I gained my BSc in Computer Science and Engineering at Politecnico di Milano in 2019.
